This time saving compactor is designed to eliminate the manual effort in producing bituminous specimens. The drive mechanism repeatedly lifts the 4.54kg (10lb) weight and drops it 457mm (18in) into the 6in specimen mold. The machine also incorporates a blow counter that allows the operator to set the number of blows of the falling weight, which, when completed, stops the machine.
