We are honoured to be able to draw on the vast experiences and resources of Dr. V. M. Sharma as the host of our concrete testing que area. Dr. Sharma has specialized knowledge in the fields of concrete technology and construction materials, geo-technical engineering, rock mechanics, institutional building, slope stabilization and reinforced earth, water resources development, and field instrumentation.

Dr. Sharma’s experience comes from his many years as Director of the Central Soil and Materials Research Station of the Ministry of Water Resources, of the Government of India. Dr. Sharma has also served as a consultant and geotechnical expert to the Asian Development Bank on a variety of international projects, including the Phuoc Hoa Multipurpose Water Resources Project in Vietnam, and the Jamuna-Meghna Flood Erosion Mitigation Project in Bangladesh.

Dr. Sharma’s numerous professional affiliations include Fellow of Indian National Academy of Engineering (FNAE), Donor Fellow, Past Honorary Secretary and Past President of the Indian Geotechnical Society (FIGS), Past Honorary Secretary of the Indian Society for Rock Mechanics and Tunneling Technology, (ISRMTT), Founder Member and Vice President, Indian Society for Trench-less Technology (INDSTT), Life Member Indian Society of Engineering Geology (MISEG), Life Member Indian Society for Water Resources (MIWRS), and Member, International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (MISMGE).
